* Please note that 18% of Tanzanian VAT will be added to these rates in the next booking step!
Arusha National Park is often overlooked by Safari goers, but this park offers a wide variety of interesting fauna and diverse landscapes. When you first enter the park, you are surrounded by a shadowy montane forest where you can observe blue monkeys, colourful turacos and trogons and acrobatic black-and-white colobus monkeys. In the midst of the forest stands the Ngurdoto Crater, often called the "small Ngorongoro". You see herds of buffalo and warthogs on its marshy floor. As you head North, you see the Momela Lakes, each a different shade of blue or green. You can spot pink flamingoes, water fowls and water bucks near the lakes and giraffes, zebra and dik-dik in the surrounding green plains. While elephants are uncommon and lions are absent here, you can spot leopards and spotted hyenas during the early mornings or late afternoons. It is also during this time of the morning and evening that you get a breathtaking sight of the snow capped peaks of the Kilimanjaro. Views of Mt. Meru dominates the park horizon. The price includes a lunch box.
This safari is a GAME DRIVE safari. At a small extra, you can add a Walking Safari inside the National Park, guided by an armed ranger. Arusha National Park is one of the few National Parks in Tanzania where this is possible.
Also, if you enjoy high standard cuisine in the style of "Out of Africa", you can upgrade your standard lunch box by a 3-course meal at "Hatari Lodge", including starter, main dish, and dessert without beverages.
