3 Days SHARED Safari - if your time is limited and you want to see Tanzania's big names SERENGETI and NGORONGORO CRATER, choose this package!

Due to the big demand now also available as a shared safari: 3 days SHARED SAFARI including SERENGETI and NGORONGORO CRATER.

You can either start this safari early in the morning from Moshi or Arusha (5am from Moshi or 6:30am from Arusha) with a transfer to Mto wa Mbu, where you would join a safari group that is doing the 4 days shared safari itinerary (you would basically skip the first day of the 4 days shared safari option), or, at a small extra, you can also have your transfer to Mto wa Mbu the evening before, get to know the safari group at the campsite, stay overnight doing camping, and then start your safari after breakfast from around 8am.

See accommodation options for this safari.

DAY 1: MOSHI – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

If you have not booked your transfer from Moshi to Mto wa Mbu + overnight doing camping in Mto wa Mbu for the night before the actual start of the safari (please see details above), you will be picked up from your accommodation in Moshi or Arusha early in the morning (approx. 5am from Moshi or 6:30am from Arusha).

In Mto wa Mbu you will meet the other members of your safari group. After breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti National park via Ngorongoro conservation area. You will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will enjoy the game drive en route. Arrival at Serengeti National Park is in the early afternoon - and you will do a game drive until sunset. Serengeti offers one of the most amazing game viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo and wildebeests, groups of elephant and giraffes, eland, impala and Grant’s gazelle, Lions, leopards and others, can be seen very often. Dinner at the accommodation of your category of choice. (Please note that in case you book the SIMPLE LODGE option, this night is spent CAMPING as there is no accommodation of simple lodge standard in the area. This is already reflected in the SIMPLE LODGE accommodation plan rate).

DAY 2 : SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

You will get up early in the morning for a game drive to witness the spectacular sunrise of the Serengeti. The game drive will continue until the early afternoon. Either return to your accommodation for a hot lunch or you will take a lunch pack with you. Then drive back through the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with game drive en route, observing more lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and hyenas. Accommodation at your category of choice in the Ngorongoro Area.

DAY 3: NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast, with picnic lunch packed, we depart for a game drive to the Ngorongoro crater. A real life Eden, you will be amazed by its abundant wildlife that get very close to the vehicle. The crater floor supports more than 25,000 large mammals including the remaining Black Rhinos, Zebras, Gnus, Gazelles, Buffalos, Lions, Hippos, Elephants, Elands, Hyenas and a number of aquatic birds. We explore the crater until the late afternoon and then drive back to Moshi/Arusha.

Upgrade: Hot Air Balloon Safari in the Serengeti instead of the early morning game drive.

Balloon Safari in the Serengeti

This upgrade replaces your early morning game drive in the Serengeti. At around 5:30am you will be driven to the launch site, just as the sky begins to glow with the first light of day. After a safety briefing from your experienced pilot, watch in awe as the balloon is inflated—its vast envelope glowing in shades of savannah gold and acacia green, illuminated by the flames of the burners.

Then it’s time to climb into the basket and lift gently into the African sunrise. Carried by the wind, each flight is unique—there is no fixed route, only the thrill of discovery. Glide low over the plains, brushing the tops of the grass, or rise higher to take in breathtaking panoramic views of the horizon painted in gold and pink.

Your skilled pilot not only guides the balloon but also shares insights into the wildlife and landscapes below, bringing the Serengeti to life from a truly extraordinary perspective.

After approximately one hour in the air, you’ll return to the plains—but the experience continues. Celebrate your flight with a glass of bubbly, followed by a freshly prepared bush breakfast under the acacia trees. Enjoy tropical fruits, warm bread baked that morning, and eggs cooked on-site—made even more special by the stunning surroundings.

Your safari guide will then meet you, and the journey continues with game viewing in the Serengeti before heading on to Ngorongoro for your final night.

An experience of a lifetime—where every moment is shaped by nature, and every view is unforgettable.
