Itinerary:

DAY 1: MOSHI/ARUSHA – NGORONGORO CRATER

You will be picked up from Moshi (6:00 AM) or Arusha (7:30 AM) and transferred to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will descend 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife in the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater, a real-life Eden and get a glimpse of an abundance of wildlife. Supported by a year-round water supply, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area sustains a vast variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another unique attraction is the dense population of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which often requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, one of the crater's main features. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds are usually found here. The game drive will last until evening, after which we will head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Heritage Tented Camps in Ndutu.

DAY 2:  FULL DAY IN NDUTU

After breakfast, we will head to Lake Ndutu area, situated in the Ngorongoro conservation area and part of the southern Serengeti eco-system. Lake Ndutu is alkaline, like most of the other Rift valley lakes, however the water is still drinkable and used by a wide array of local wildlife to enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu area. Explore the wide range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes etc. See great herds of wildebeest and zebra and many more. During a short time frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young animals are easy pickings for a variety of predators. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd. The game drive will last until evening, after which we will head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Heritage Tented Camps in Ndutu.

DAY 3: NDUTU – ARUSHA/ MOSHI

After breakfast, we will start with an early morning game drive in Ndutu area with a lunch picnic and make our way  with a game en-route towards loduare gate, leaving the park the same time we entered on day one. We will then proceed to drive back to your accommodation in Moshi or Arusha.
